During the Microsoft developer event, Build, which took place yesterday (06), the company revealed how it intends to make Cortana more realistic. Since competition among virtual assistants is great. Remember that we have Alexa from Amazon, Bixby from Samsung and Siri from Apple.
Microsoft’s challenge now is to really apply this naturalness in Cortana that we use every day.
For this, Microsoft will use the technology developed by a company that acquired last year, Semantic Machines. Its focus is the creation of artificial languages in a more natural way. The idea is to make Cortana understand people more organically.

A demonstration video presented what the company is looking for. A businesswoman organizes her work day talking to Cortana in a natural way. As if she did it with a real person. The answers from the Microsoft virtual assistant should also become more realistic. They should load up some of the “tics” of speech that we have.
Microsoft’s challenge now is to really be able to apply that naturalness to Cortana that we use every day. Only then will it be possible for the company to take its place in the current disputed market of virtual personal assistants.
