Anyone who uses Google Photos to make basic edits to the photos saved in the cloud will gain a weight boost within the search giant’s application. It turns out that the coloring mode of black and white images will be implemented in the beta version of the app soon. This will leave it with an automatic feature for this. Unlike what happens with Photoshop users. There they need to make the changes manually. Applying layers and more layers of effects.
Until the 60’s, most of the photographs taken in the cameras of the time were in black and white. Since technological modifications had not yet been applied that allowed the impression of the images with the realism seen by the human eyes. It’s something that was improving even more in recent times with the evolution of this equipment and the arrival of smartphones.

However, there are people today who take advantage of the existence of some image editing software, such as Photoshop. They use them to perform the renovation of old photos to try to show the colors that were present in that environment at the time of capture. But this process takes time and patience from the publisher. It causes a few hours to be lost in the process.
Despite this, Google wants to take advantage of the mobile market boom with regard to photos. Especially after the Pixel line has been released. It wants to give users tools that provide differentiated image editing experiences on the palm.
The feature called “Colorize”
Proof of this is the fact that the company is studying the possibility of implementing in the beta, and later fixedly in the Photos app, the feature called “Colorize”. This performs the application of colors in black and white images with just a click. As it is shown in the example below.

It is worth remembering that this news, in fact, had been announced in Google I / O 2018. But the company did not even apply within the application. Not even in the test version. It’s something that remained in the drawer for a while. But it seems to have been reborn of the ashes in the hands of the developers responsible for the updates in Google Photos.
According to the programmers of the company, the feature that brings Machine Learning is still in the phase of improvements. Thus, it is necessary to perform some tests before implementing in the beta. So that users can analyze the tool in practice.
