Some may argue that Apple products are already so beautiful that you can do little to make them even more so. Others would say yes you can with an iPhone case or simply changing the wallpaper. You will find beautiful screensavers in apps like Wallpaper Wizard 2 .
In this article, we will show you several ways to customize the screen of your Mac or MacBook. You can do it by choosing a photo of your family as background, choose a wallpaper from the gallery or changing the screensaver that appears when you do not use the computer.
How to change the wallpaper on Mac or MacBook
Method 1. Choose one of the Apple wallpapers
There are several ways to change your Mac’s wallpaper, but the easiest way to do that is by going to the ‘ System Preferences ‘ menu . You can access it by hitting the icon in the form of a Dock gear.
Alternatively, click on the icon of the apple that you will see in the top bar of your screen on the left. Then, choose the option ‘System Preferences’ from the drop-down menu that will appear.
Now, choose the option ‘ Desktop and Screensavers ‘. Make sure that the ‘ Desktop ‘ tab is selected. On the left you will see a menu with a section called ‘Apple’. In it you will find the folder ‘Images desktop’.
Inside this folder you will see all the wallpapers that come from the factory when you buy a new iMac or MacBook. Click on the image you want to set as a wallpaper and in less than a second it will be changed.
If you can not decide on just one, you may want to select the ‘ Change image ‘ box and choose how often you want your background to change – from every 5 seconds to every day. You can also choose the ‘ Random Order ‘ box .
On the other hand, some people prefer simple desktop backgrounds. If this is your case, you will like to know that you can choose a single color screen in the ‘Solid Colors’ folder. You can choose between the default ones or customize it.

Method 2. Choose a photo from your library as wallpaper
Those who prefer to give a personal touch to your computer have it as easy as setting your favorite photo as desktop wallpaper of your iMac or MacBook. First, open the ‘ System Preferences ‘ menu as we have indicated in the previous section.
Once you are in the section of ‘ Desktop ‘, navigate through the folders that you will find in the section ‘ Photos ‘ or ‘ Folders ‘ on the left until you find the place where you have saved this photo that you like so much.
If you can not find the folder where you have it stored, you can give the symbol ‘ + ‘ that you will see in the bottom part. A window will open in which you can navigate to this folder and select the image.
As has been done in the previous method, click on the photo you want as a wallpaper and it will automatically be configured on your desktop. In this case you can also choose ‘ Change image ‘ and / or ‘ Random order ‘ so that it is not always the same background.
How to set the screen saver on Mac or MacBook
If you are someone who still wants to use screensavers, Apple also gives you the option to have one on your iMac or MacBook. First, you must go to the ‘ Desktop and Screensavers ‘ section of the ‘ System Preferences ‘ menu .
In this case, you must select the ‘ Screensavers ‘ tab . On the left you will see several types of screensavers. If you click on one of them, you will see a preview in the right part of the window.
Below this preview, you will see the ‘ Source ‘ option , a menu that allows you to change the photos you want to be displayed. You can choose, for example, photographs taken by professionals (‘ National Geographic ‘, ‘ Aerial ‘, ‘ Cosmos ‘, ‘ Nature ‘).
But you can also customize your screensaver with your own photographs. Click on the option ‘ Select folder ‘ from the ‘ Source ‘ menu and choose your favorite photos. If you choose ‘ Photo library ‘, you will be shown the images saved in the ‘ Photos ‘ app .
Also in this case you can choose to have the order of the slides be random (‘ Alter the order of the slides ‘) and choose the time it takes to project the screensaver after inactivity (‘Start after’).
