From iOS 11 Apple has given all its users the option to manage all our documents and to make the iPhone or iPad a more productive tool. Below we show you how the Files application works on your iOS device.
The application icon of the blue folder with white background corresponds to Files. It’s an iOS option with which you can browse all the content you want to save on the device. In this, the default locations will be iCloud Drive, iPad or iPhone and those eliminated recently. However, you can add many more as Dropbox, Box and other services that work in the cloud.
When opening the Files application, the first thing that will draw attention is the bottom part. This shows two options, Recent and Explore. This first shows the recently modified files. While the second one, Browse shows the locations of the documents.
How to manage in a better way Files
Inside the explorer, the column on the left, whose heading says Browse , shows the folders that exist in our iOS device. We will see three sections that are the Locations, the Favorites and finally Tags.
The column on the right, the largest, is a viewer of the locations of the left column. This will show all the subfolders that exist in the device, and touching it will show the files it contains.
An interesting detail is that on the right side of each icon the date of its last modification is shown.

The files application is very similar to the Finder. However its features are a bit more limited. The first step to better manage the files is to recognize the options to edit and select. The first being an option that allows moving the position of the files. folders and activate or hide them.
In the second column the files are displayed as mentioned at the beginning. In this we have the option to select. This allows to share, duplicate, move and even delete the documents that have been selected. It is worth mentioning that at the top of this column you have the option to sort by Name, Date, Size and even Label.
With this function, either the iPad or the iPhone, the files shared by AirDrop will be very easy to manage for users, making the iOS device a very valuable productivity tool.
