Apple plans to launch a new application that will bring together the functions of Find My Phone and Find My Friends. It will be called “GreenTorch”. The novelty will have functions to find a lost device and also to find friends. It will serve, therefore, for the same purposes of the old pair of apps.
The 9to5Mac site cites anonymous sources of the theme as a source. And it says the new application will be available for macOS and iOS. It will have enhanced capabilities to find a lost device. Even when it is not connected to the internet, ensures publication.
The Friend Finder will allow you to share the location with friends and family. This includes the right to notify when someone leaves a place or arrives at a destination.
Another benefit of the new application, the publication says, is the ability to find all devices in the same family through a single app. Even AirPods, Apple’s wireless headsets, can be found in this way.
Find my anything
Apple plans to launch a kind of tag that can be paired with an iCloud account and fixed to other products. With this, whenever you lose or have the item subtracted, just use “GreenTorch” to find out its exact location.
The location information for this tag can also be shared with friends and family. It is codenamed “B389”. This further expands its possibilities of use.
It is not yet clear when Apple will launch the app that unifies Find My Phone and Find My Friends or the findable tag. But it is likely that all of this will reach the public in 2019.
